... it's time for my annual disappointment with the Academy. In a year where they move forward in the Host category (That's right, Chris Rock), they find a way to be as crotchety and boorish as usual, dissing Paul Giamatti and Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)....

... I don't think that I could have more of a LOVE/HATE relationship with Clint Eastwood. I LOVE to HATE him, and I HATE to LOVE him... so I don't...

... I heard a sublime rumor and it goes like this: Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd is attempting to make a comeback!! Yeah!! At the young old age of 45, he says he's throwing 90mph and has added a few pitches to his repertoire, including a knuckleball and a greaseball (wocka wocka wocka... you get it... oil can, huh? Huh? Oil Can?)...

... the wife and I went to a tsunami relief benefit concert last week, and I'm a little ashamed to say that in light of the impetus for the event, it was quite possibly the best and funniest show I've ever been to. Beck was there. Eddie Vedder was there. Dave Grohl was there. Josh Homme was there. Will Ferrell was there. Chris Rock was there. And most importantly, Tenacious D was there. And at the end, I saw a supergroup that would kick Damn Yankees' ass. When it comes to amazing one time only shows, L.A. wins every time...

... I've done a little site cleaning (damn you, spambots!), and I find that I must apologize to anyone who has posted to our blog and not gotten a reply. Your comments were inevitably buried beneath a heap of ads for online poker sites and various boner pills. Please accept Mighty McP's most heartfelt apologies...

... along those lines, I'd like to give a special shout out (did I just say "shout out"? how lame of me.) to my long lost friend, Nancy Campbell. Her post, like others, was lost in the rubble, but I'm oh-so-happy that I found it. I've been scouring the internet for years, trying to track her down and then she posts to my site and I don't even notice it. I'm sorry Nancy, for some reason the email address given to me long ago was a little bit off in many ways. My bad (Did I just say "my bad"? What's going on?)...
