Damn Dirty Liberals

I have several friends who insist that living in New York is soooooo much better than living in Los Angeles. In some ways, they are correct. BUT NOT THIS WEEK!

Oh, those Grand Old Party People crack me up. I really love the way certain Republicans say the word 'liberal.' When speakers at the RNC refer to John Kerry as "the liberal from Massachusetts", they wrinkle their faces in disgust as if just smelling poop. It's laugh out loud fun!

As this week continues and the word 'liberal' is thrown about like a nasty, pornographic term used to insult and degrade, I'd like to share this definition (contributed by a like-minded friend) from Webster's New World Dictionary:

liberal - (from Latin liber, meaning free) adj. 1. generous 2. abundant, ample 3. not literal or strict 4. tolerant, broadminded 5. favoring reform or progress (also a noun, one who favors reform or progress)

Yeah. I can see how that would get the GOP all huffy. They don't like what they don't understand.
